The heart leaps when we add
The soul morns subtraction

A Carl Sandburg Writer
Author’s Note: A two lined poem is a Couplet. A one line poem is a Monostich. Three is a Triplet. Four a Quatrain. There is no designation for a five line poem (I would call a five-liner an Irish Firestick or simply a Limerick). Six is a Hexastich. Seven a Heptastich. An eight line poem is referred to as an Octave. There you have it, now go write one of each, and Ed if you send me a limerick please censor it first.
