This 2024 is a yeoman’s year for blueberries. When planting your own blueberry patch, be sure to plant enough to share with the bears up in these mountains.
Bear with me here. Once I was picking and eating a peck O’ blueberries with my brother-in-law, George, up on Rocky Top, when this big ‘ole black Papa bear false charged us! If you ain’t been false charged afore, you ain’t lived. They charge at you full bore pulling up abruptly short, about ten feet, then meander off ignoring, like you don’t even exist, having established exactly whose blueberry patch this really is.

Author’s Note: To this day when immersed in my blueberry patch, picking a peck, I occasionally pop up and look around stealthy-like (just like Red in Shawshank) in case ole’ Papa bear happens to be feasting on the backside of my patch!
