So tell me (if you dare)
Is my poetry too
Copious to comprehend
Fraught with hidden humor
An occasional sin
Perhaps leaving you with
A tear or a giggle
Or perhaps it floats your inner soul
Colleagues call it
“Life-long treasures
Embedded in rhythmic lines”
While tickling the mind
bringing solace to the soul
Slow down Read it slow with emphases
don’t be in a rush
Poetry requires one’s attention to detail
Every comma, shape
Every misssplelled word are important
Give me a hint below
Now and then
Should you actually understand
My
Zen
Ummm
I double dog dare you
Look beyond my rhyme and verse
Let my poetry
Sink in
For you and i come by here
But once.

Also: Thank you! My Author’s Notes are quite unique. No other poet does that. My readers applaud my Author's Notes. Perhaps glance at them, and reread the poem👍🏻
My daughter wrote in My Memoirs: my wrinkle in time: “Tom will unravel a moment for you. Left with a tear or a giggle, you may find yourself making a mental note of the life lesson treasures embedded in his rhythmic lines, highlighter not included, but get comfy, and be ready to be entertained
And she writes, “Indeed he is in his winter and after dad passes, we will sit around and ask ‘Did he really write that?’ Yes he did!” Yep me and Van Gogh have that in common😉
*A special shout out to Daniel Flynn, artist and philosopher, for permission to use his original paintings for my book covers and throughout my Sandburg Series. Thank you Daniel. we make a great team. Have a wonderful day😊
