I climbed and crawled,
Walked and hiked and biked.
I scratched my way
Up to the edge
The very edge
The edge of the earth.
Dare I go farther
For there it was and
The portal, the gate
To pass through,
Simple unassuming
Yet alluring.
To go, or thru
Or not
Should I? Should I not.
After all I made it here
On the edge of my scratchy nails
Where?
The edge of the earth. To the end
YES!
Through the gate
That simple
Opening go I
Where earth meets other
Stepping thru,
A giant step
Falling
Falling
Falling
Round and round
Into
The End.

Author’s Note: the phrase “to the ends of the earth,” has always intrigued me. So I thought I would give it a try. Try it. One step beyond. It’s somewhere along the Blue Ridge. There. Just step through - The End.
