What faces?
What Demons?
What Green Man have you captured in your granite clutches, Oh Rock?
What have you seen lo all these million years?
And I, yet just today, discovered the essence of your tale.
Authors’ Notes: Up along the two lane Blue Ridge Parkway, Just off to the left before you get to Craggy Gardens, there’s a nice hike in a southerly direction on the Mountains to Shore Trail that goes to Lane Pentacle. Right to the left, about halfway there, is where you’ll find this granite beauty and a great flat rock overhang for lunch. How many faces besides large Green-man do you spy?”
*Mr. green man also shares his one eye and snout with a huge bear face trying to escape the rock, a woodsman behind a turtle head In front, A skull to his left, a wolf’s head to his right, a dog’s head facing right (part of the Wolf), a tiny leprechaun in a tiny cave (below the dog), a tiny Florentine damsel, the three merry men dancing, mr. moon, an elephant man upper right, a cute little shaggy possum (below the shill), a blustery old fella with a big sloping nose and big bottom lip (Pinned left) and Gunga Din (top right). Just when I thought I had seen it all, Mickey says he sees a fawn kissing a guardian angel.
Our imagination can take us anywhere, sometime into the depths of a mere piece of granite. Our imagination is our means of “tessering” coming soon.

Tom you are a genius. I don't know how you keep making poetry and blogs. Just keep doing it. I loved "To Lane Granite," and could find all of the image so fun.
