*photo/artwork on wood by erin Dear God, in Your mercy we are doing what we can to carry out Your work on earth as You commanded us to go forth and do Your corporal works of mercy, to feed the hungry, to give drink to the thirsty, to clothe the naked, to give shelter to travelers, to visit the sick, to visit the imprisoned, and to bury the dead. You asked that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. You, Lord, reminded us that:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Gospel of Matthew 5:3-10
Lord God Almighty, we beseech You, send your faithful servant and fierce warrior, Michael the Archangel, to protect and heal, and give us strength, as we prepare for the ultimate battle against evil. We are nothing without You. We are everything empowered with Your grace. We Praise and give Thanksgiving for sending Your Son to save us. We trust, in the Lord.
Sheep have gone astray; we stand ready to do our duty to God and Country.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
Author’s Note: Let us give thanks this Thanksgiving day, because by the Holy Cross He has redeemed the world🙏
