PRAY

Updated: Jan 17

Let’s start with a prayer, then take prayer head on:

Prayer - Lord God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as I sit by the warming fire this frosty mountain morning, I gaze out at Your vastness and wonder are we doing it right? We pray for Divine intervention. Help us along each of our separate journeys, heal and guide and protect us and our families and friends as we travel life’s path, in your grace. Hold us in your omnipotent hand. May evil passover us. Help us to follow in your footprints. Heal our minds and bodies. Forgive us our transgressions, our iniquities and our thoughtless indiscretions along our way. We thank you for sending your Son to save us. Give us insight and compassion. And May the souls of the faithful departed Rest In Peace. We ask this in Your name. Amen.

A Time To Pray

There is a time to weep

And a time to pray

There’s a time for grief

And a time to pray

There’s a time for sorrow

And a time to pray

A time of need

Is a time to pray

A time for advice

Is a time to pray

In pain

There’s a time to pray

There’s a time to pray

For healing

There’s a time for intercession

It’s a time to pray

For salvation

Is a time to pray

In solitude

There’s time to pray

A time of joy

Is a time to pray

Shuuu! Be quite as a shadow

For therein is the Spirit

For the love of God

It’s time to pray

In times of a deed

Is a time to pray

I’ve lost my way

It’s time to pray

And now am found

Is a time to give thanks

There’s a time for guidance

It’s a time to pray

There’s a time to praise

A time to pray

Send me someone to love

Is a prayer

There’s a time to thank

A time to pray

It’s time for forgiveness

It’s time to pray

When you are sad

Someone just prayed for you

Will there be tomorrow

There’s a time to pray

Night and day

Is a time to pray

Rest in Peace

Is a time to pray

On our last day

A time to pray

There’s a time to pray

Pray every day

Author’s Notes:

What is prayer? Prayer is communication with a higher authority, God.

Who prays? Everyone. Even denier atheists will pray when their shit hits the fan. Review “One Last Barter” https://www.tenbrunsel.com/post/life-s-last-barter

To whom may we pray? I think it’s acceptable to pray to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and all those who surround Him, especially His Mother, Mary.

When is the best time to pray? Anytime, Anyplace, for Anyreason.

There are four types of prayer - Adoration, Thanks, Supplication, Contrition, Intercession.

How many prayers are there? How many grains of sand are there?

Fingerprints a book by my good friend, James H Williams, is a uniquely personal collection of prayers (with commentary by the author) written by Jim. Open the book to any page and pray the poem/prayer.

Are formal standardized prayers OK? They were last time I checked with the Boss, “Of Course!” If someone tells you different, pray for them.

Made up prayers work? “Absolutely, I like them the best,” God.

If someone says they don’t pray, pray for them.

How many “justs” are in one prayer? Count them.
